Countryside - An Essential Business Serving Our Members and Customers

As our General Manger, Frank Brenner, has said - the safety of our members, our customers, and our employees remain as one of our top priorities during this COVID-19 situation. The other top priority is our focus to deliver the essential needs our farmers have for this year's growing season. 

As the Safety and Compliance Manager, I want to share with you the steps we have taken to ensure we can deliver those essential needs in a safe manner:

  • Business divisions and locations have been trained on proper hygiene and sanitation in accordance with the CDD guidelines.
  • Personal protective equipment has been provided to our employees and locations when warranted.
  • Cleaning products and supplies such as disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizers, and disinfectant sprays have been distributed to our locations. We have implemented cleaning procedures along with steps to try and eliminate direct contact with our customers.
  • We have eliminated public access to some of our business divisions and where this is not practical, we have establish 6 foot separations between customers and employees. 
  • We are currently utilizing physical barriers where applicable and utilizing designated floor markings.
  • We are currently in the process of installing plexiglass barriers at some of our locations.
  • Educational posters are being used at locations to help educate the public before entering our locations. 
  • Many of our locations are now offering phone-in orders with curbside delivery for essential items. 
  • Some business units are currently offering delivery.
  • Countryside has a COVID-19 Response Team which meets at least once a week to evaulate new information from the CDC, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and other relevant entities to stay informed on COVID-19. This team maintains daily contact to ensure critical information is discussed to determine additional action which may need to occur to keep everyone informed and safe.
